Statewide Injury Prevention Program (SIPP)

Data

Arkansas injury data is available at multiple sites and can be easily accessed to meet your needs.

The Arkansas Department of Health houses the Health Statistics Branch which provides hospital discharge data and vital statistical data.  They also offer county health profiles for Arkansas which include death rates by mechanism.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has two databases, WISQARS and WONDER.  The WISQARS online database offers a reporting and query system for fatal and nonfatal injuries, interactive maps, cost and Years of Potential Life Lost data at the state level.  The WONDER online database offers a reporting and query system for injury morbidity and mortality data at the state and county level.

SIPP has data already formatted into usable Power Point slides and tabulated at the state level by trauma region.  Click on the links below or call SIPP for help with any data questions.

The U.S. Census Bureau provides population data, as well as specific information (age, race, language, income, etc.) at the state and county level.
