Radioactive Materials

The Radioactive Materials Program regulates the safe use of radioactive materials in order to protect occupational workers, the public, and the environment.

Arkansas became the sixth Agreement State on May 21, 1963. As an Agreement State, Arkansas is responsible for the regulation and enforcement of by-product, source material and small quantities of Special Nuclear Material. Arkansas regulations must be compatible with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
