Radiation Control Section colleagues are routinely involved in Radiological Emergency Response. Each Section colleague has a role on the Department’s Radiological Emergency Response Team. The RER Team is responsible for responding to potential off-site releases of radioactive material from ENTERGY”S Arkansas Nuclear One (ANO) reactors in Russellville, Arkansas. A cadre of Section health physicists also responds to a wide variety of radioactive material incidents and events within the State of Arkansas. These particular radiation events may be transportation accidents, lost radioactive sources, and/or ‘dirty bombs’.
