The Arkansas Department of Health is celebrating National Rural Health Day on Thursday, Nov 20, 2014. National Rural Health Day showcases rural communities in Arkansas. It’s a day that recognizes how vital top-notch health care is to the well-being of rural communities. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care will join the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and other state/national rural stakeholders in celebrating National Rural Health Day on Thursday, November 20, 2014.
Events recognizing National Rural Health Day and “Celebrating the Power of Rural” are being planned throughout the nation. In Arkansas, The Office of Rural Health and Primary Care is planning to mark the occasion by disseminating educational pamphlets concerning hypertension, diabetes, high cholesterol and prostate cancer to the Rural Clinics located in Arkansas. Please stop by the Rural Clinic located in your area on November 20, 2014 to receive these free pamphlets. Also, please visit the NOSORH web site at National Rural Health Day webinars
to listen in on several live Webinars on November 20, 2014 that will highlight the good work being done to highlight health care in rural America.
