The Arkansas Department of Health is NOT making telephone calls for a survey and telling individuals they will receive $10 for each question answered. If you receive such a call, it is a scam. You should notify the Consumer Protection Division of the Arkansas Attorney General’s office at firstname.lastname@example.org
or telephone the Consumer Protection Hotline at 501-682-2341 or toll-free at 800-482-8982.
There is apparently a telephone scam ongoing at this time in which the caller identifies themself as calling from the Arkansas Department of Health. The individual then asks to speak to the “oldest person in the house,” offers to pay for participation in a survey and asks for the person’s bank account number.
The Department of Health does gather information using telephone surveys, but it will NEVER
ask for an individual’s bank account or other personal identity numbers.
