Lead-based Paint Program

To increase awareness of childhood lead poisoning prevention, the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH), along with the CDC, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), is participating in National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (NLPPW) October 23–29.

During the week, ADH employees will be providing information about lead exposure, safe lead-based paint removal and repair and the connection between a healthy diet and lead absorption. The ADH Lead Outreach Team is participating in these events: 

  • Monday, Oct.24:  Boo at the Zoo, Little Rock Zoo, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 25:  Fuller and Son Hardware (Heights), 5915 R Street Little Rock, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 26:  Lowes, North Little Rock, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 29:  Fall Funfest, Hillary Rodham Clinton Children’s Library, Little Rock, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
