The goal of WIC nutrition education is to provide the most current nutrition information to assist families in making healthy lifestyle choices and to promote the health and well-being of Arkansas women, infants and children.
Nutrition education is provided to all WIC participants. Nutrition education focuses on the relationship between proper nutrition and good health. Special attention is placed on the nutritional needs of the client. Nutrition education helps the client in making positive changes in food habits resulting in improved nutrition status. The WIC supplemental foods and other nutritious foods assist clients in preventing nutrition related problems.
